Actively Learn

Reading is the bedrock of education. Actively Learn worked with Schema on the design of an e-reading platform to improve students’ reading comprehension, enabling teachers to reach students directly through personalized instruction, timely feedback, and peer collaboration.

Process

Schema collaborated with Actively Learn throughout the platform’s development, from the initial pilot to the current incarnation. The design evolved through ongoing feedback from students and educators.

Outcome

Used by hundreds of thousands of students, Actively Learn enables new interactions between teachers, students, and texts. Its user interface received numerous design awards and the organization received support from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the National Science Foundation.
